In 1978, Ernst Erb (at the time 41) was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s cancer and given a statistical life expectancy of 2½ years.

He took his life into his own hands, researched the disease, and searched for a way to avoid this fate. In 2016, on his 80th birthday, he walked from Lucerne to Zurich and then later, he hiked to the top of Mount Pilatus (2128 m).

This video is one of a five-part series that focuses on Ernst’s vision and his response to the death sentence he was given in 1978.
