Dr. William W. Li is an international expert on health and disease fighting based on diet, lifestyle, and treatments that aim to keep the blood vessels in balance. He graduated with honors from Harvard College and received his M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pennsylvania. Among other appointments, he is president and founder of the Angiogenesis Foundation and he created the “Eat to Beat Cancer” program.

Angiogenesis (from "angi" meaning "blood vesel" and "genesis" meaning "creation") is the process that our body uses to develop new blood vessels. The capillaries (the smallest blood vessels) have the ability to adapt to any environment in which they grow.

2:13: The body can regulate the quantity of blood vessels present at each moment in our body. In several diseases, there are defects in the system, where the body can not prune back extra blood vessels or can not generate enough new blood vessels in the right place at the right time.

5:25: According to Dr. William Li, one of our most important defense mechanisms against cancer is to block the process of angiogenesis and prevent blood vessels from reaching the cancer cells. This way, the tumors can not grow.

11:24: The diet is responsible for 30% to 35% of the cancers produced by the environment. What could we add to the diet that is naturally antiangiogenic?

12:56: A list of food and drinks with antiangiogenic effects.

14:52: Evidence from dr. William Li's practice and research that eating certain foods can balance angiogenesis and prevent cancer in people.

18:23: Dr. William Li's advice: "What we eat is really our chemotherapy three times a day. Don't ask yourself 'what can the doctor do for me', but instead, "what can I do for myself'."
